What a transit is

A transit compares a planet's current position with a natal placement. A transiting planet can conjoin, oppose, square, trine, or sextile a planet or angle in the birth chart.

Fast and slow transits

The Moon can describe a brief mood or moment. Mars may activate a theme for days or weeks. Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto can describe longer developmental periods because they move slowly.

Exact dates and active windows

A transit builds as it moves toward exactness and fades as it separates. Retrograde motion can bring more than one exact contact, creating a sequence rather than one isolated date.

How to use a transit

Look for observable themes, practical choices, and the natal house being activated. A transit describes context and timing; it does not guarantee a specific event.
